If you or your kids are already tired of re-watching old episodes of your favorite shows, fear not because Disney Junior has announced upcoming programming for preschoolers at their Disney Junior & Friends Play Date event at Disney California Adventure Park!
What Can Disney Junior Fans Expect?
A new version of the classic series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse will air in 2025. Special holiday episodes of current favorites can also be expected. There’s also good news for Ariel fans – a new preschool age-appropriate show about the young mermaid will be coming up, too.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 2.0 is the most exciting announcement for most people. Of course, it will feature classic Disney characters, catchy tunes, jokes, and much more. However, we can expect some upgrades too. Minnie will have her own area of the clubhouse, and we’ll get to see Duffy the Disney Bear more often. With Halloween coming up, there will also be a cute stop-motion Mickey and Friends Trick or Treats special, being released on October 1st.
Other Hit Shows and Halloween Episodes
SuperKitties, Mickey Mouse Funhouse, and Pupstruction will also have Halloween episodes. There is also a Rosh Hashanah-themed episode of Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends, airing on September 15th, and a Dia de los Muertos episode of Mickey Mouse Funhouse on October 6th.
The casts of the eagerly anticipated new animated series Ariel for Disney Junior, starring Mykal-Michelle Harris in the title role, Amber Riley from Glee as Ursula, and Taye Diggs as King Triton, were also revealed at the event. In 2024, Ariel swam onto Disney Junior and Disney+.
Then, there is the truly impressive guest star cast of the new show RoboGobo, which stars Cynthia Erivo, Valerie Bertinelli, Alan Cumming, Susan Kelechi Watson, Ana Gasteyer, Alison Pill, and Dulé Hill, and is about a boy who adopts five pets and gives them superpower suits. Additionally, Disney Junior and Disney+ will debut RoboGobo in 2024.
